Below is one of amazing and easy chicken wings dishes that you can make any time for your demanding stomach – baked lemon-pepper chicken wings.

Baked lemon-pepper chicken wings

Ingredients: (prep will take about 10 minutes)

  • 4-5 cups of Water
  • 2-3 tablespoons of Garlic Powder
  • 2-3 tablespoons of Onion Power
  • Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • ¼ to ½ cup of Lemon-Pepper Seasoning (you can made it at home or purchase at store)
  • ¼ cup of Lemon Juice
  • 2 pounds of Chicken Wings
  • 2 tablespoon of Light Agave Syrup (or high quality honey)

Optional Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup of Lemon Juice
  • ¼ teaspoon of Chili Power
  • Fresh Chives (for garnish)

Cooking (cooking will take about 45 minutes)

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 400 degrees about 10 minutes before cooking

Step 2:  Put chicken wings, lemon juice, garlic power and onion power in a pot then give them a good stir so all the chicken can absorb the seasoning power. After that, pour water in the pot and cook them with high heat. Give the water a little amount of salt (just like making pasta)

Step 3: Cooking the wings for about 10 minutes until it is boiled or until the wings are tenders and cook through. Don’t overcook the wings since the flesh will fall part later and make your dish dry when baking

Step 4: After the wings are cooked, turn off the stove and remove the chicken using a slotted spoon from the pot onto paper towels. Drain off any excess liquid but don’t completely dry the wings which may make chicken dry latter

Step 5: Spray nonstick spray on baking rack and place aluminum foil onto baking sheet so that you can clean up easier. Toss chicken wings in olive oil and line swings up in an even layers on the baking sheet. Liberally sprinkle lemon-pepper over chicken wings.

Step 6: Put the chicken wings into the oven and bake them for about 10 to 15 or until the chicken wings have golden brown color. After that, you should take the wings out and flip over to the other side. Sprinkle lemon-pepper over the wings just like you did with the baked side and return them into the oven for other 5 to 7 minutes.

Step 7 (optional): Mix ¼ cup of lemon juice, chili pepper and agave or honey to create the glaze while the chicken wings are baked. Brush this glaze on the wings for a thin layer in the middle of baking. Do this to both side so wings can be evenly seasoned. This glaze will elevate the wings flavor but it is just up to your preference

Step 8: When the wings are thoroughly cooked or turned to golden brown with crispy skin, take them out and let them sit for about 5 minutes. Add some chives for garnish and serve them to your beloved ones

Home-made Lemon-Pepper

You can purchase lemon-pepper seasoning at store. But if you want to make it at home, which is more healthy and safer, you can simply follow this recipe for a home-made lemon-pepper.

Lemon-pepper

Ingredients:

  • 1-2 tablespoon of Lemon Zest (about 3 lemons depend on the lemon size)
  • 2-3 tablespoons of Black Pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of Sea Salt

Cooking:

Step 1: Preheat the oven with lowest setting

Step 2: Mix lemon zest and black pepper in a bowl then spread them evenly on a metal pan covered with aluminum foil which can fit the oven. Let the mixture baked low and slow until the zest is dried. It took about 30 minutes but you should constantly check on the mixture

Step 3: With baked mixture, use a hard mental spoon or pestle to crush the mixture into your desired texture. Then slowly add salt into the mixture until you have the right taste

Baked lemon-pepper chicken wings can be a perfect dish for party, family dinner and gatherings. Everyone will love this dish for sure.
