Smoothie is amazing way to mix everything good together. This thick beverage is made from raw fruits, vegetables and other ingredients such as ice, milk, syrup and other sweeteners. The drink is not only preferred by everybody for their yummy taste but also for the great nutrition value from its healthy ingredients. Smoothies also encourage us to consume more green and good organic vitamins for our body because of its variety in ingredients as well as delicious taste. You will find it is easier to eat celery when blending them with banana or other tasty fruit that will power the smell of celery in case you don’t like it.
Ice smoothies are also a refreshing beverage when you need to recharge your body in hot days. The health benefits of smoothies are also approved by nutritionists not only because of their ingredients but smoothies also include dietary fiber which makes them healthier than fruit juices alone. Having one glass of smoothie every day is recommended for your health.
And today we would like to introduce one of healthy smoothie recipe, that is red spinach smoothie or we can call it as Pink Monster Smoothie!
- 1 Banana (sliced)
- 1 cup of chopped Pineapple (fresh, frozen or canned, but we prefer fresh pineapple more)
- 1 Green Apple (chopped)
- 1 ½ cup of Orange Juice (you can juice from fresh orange or orange juice beverage)
- 2 ½ cups of Red Spinach Leaves (rinsed and dried)
- 1 teaspoon of Honey (you can put more, it is up to your sweetness preference)
- 2 tablespoons of Ground Flaxseed (optional)
When you have rinsed, dried and chopped all the ingredients, combine all of the ingredients in blender or food processor (make sure you wash your equipment well before putting food in) and blend them until the mixture got smooth. Give the smoothie a little taste and adjust to your preference.
Put some ice cubes in the glass and pour the smoothie in it. Remember to only put ice in the smoothie right before you enjoy it because ice will thaw and dilute your drink later. The flavor then is ruined and smoothie will taste bland due to ice thawing.
If you don’t want to drink it right away, put the smoothie in airtight containers and keep them cool in fridge. The drink should be consumed within a day when all nutrition is still remained. If you want cool drink, add some ice cubes with the ingredients while blending. By this way, you should drink it right after.
With main ingredient is red spinach, this smoothie is good for your blood, kidney, anemia, dysentery function, strengthen hair roots and eyesight; support immune system.
